Stephen Chavez - Accounting Manager
Stephen is a highly skilled accountant, tax preparer, and businessman who specializes in profit maximization and tax savings for small businesses. He is passionate about discovering new ways for companies to grow their revenue and adapt in the ever-changing world of small business. Stephen has accounting experience in both corporate and public realms. He has prepared countless tax returns, ranging from individuals to businesses, and is well versed in assisting clients with IRS and state tax matters. Stephen graduated from College of the Ozarks with an accounting degree in 2016, and then went on to complete his Masters in Business Administration at John Brown University in 2019. Stephen is continuously educating himself and is always looking for new opportunities to help his clients (past, present, and future) grow and thrive.
On top of being a businessman, Stephen is a family man. He enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and extended family, and creating new memories whenever possible. Stephen enjoys relaxing outside in nature, playing golf, and going on runs. When he gets the chance, he loves traveling all over the world and meeting new people.
Adam Pipenhagen - Tax Manager
Adam is a CPA, who specializes in tax matters. He is passionate to find ways to help others with their business or personal finances as it relates to accounting and tax. He has experience preparing individual, partnership, S-corp, and not-for-profit tax returns and assisting clients with IRS notices. Adam graduated College of the Ozarks with an accounting degree in 2016, and worked for one of the top public accounting firms for 4 years before joining Affordable Financial Services in 2020. He is continually learning and keeping up with the different tax laws to help better serve his clients.
He is a family man and enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He would be considered a DIY guy and finds himself fixing/building things in and around the house. Outside of the home, he enjoys playing sports like golf, being out in nature, and playing music.
When she is not working hard for our clients, you can find her staying active at CrossFit or in a tennis match, cooking traditional Bolivian foods, or playing with her best friend Kristy, the German shepherd. An interesting fact about Ane, is that she is a triplet with two brothers! Traveling is also one of Ane’s biggest passions. One of her most favorite destinations is the largest salt flat in the world, the Uyuni Salt Flats, located in her home country of Bolivia.
Anelisse Torrico - Payroll Manager
Anelisse Torrico Moreno is in charge of payroll processing at Affordable Financial Services. She keeps close working relationships with all her clients, making sure that they are in compliance with payroll management, and federal, state and unemployment laws regarding taxes. By assisting businesses with their day-to-day payroll functions, Anelisse enables them to operate in the smoothest manner possible. Anelisse is originally from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, but has been living in Springfield since 2015. She came to the city as a student-athlete at Missouri State, where she received her undergraduate in accounting while playing tennis for the Bears. Since then, Anelisse has also received a graduate degree in project management.

Angela Hickerson2023-03-20Sent my tax info through the portal a month ago . Waited 2 weeks and then called for a follow-up. I was told that my taxes are in review. Called a week later, and I was told the same thing. Call last week, and I was told that my taxes were completed, and I will have the paperwork in the portal in 15 minutes to sign. Well, here we are a week later , and I am told that my taxes were in review again. I told the lady that I was told last week that my taxes were completed. She then told me that I had submitted a new document. I kindly reminded her I did not, and the portal reflects the last document I submitted. I wasted a month trying to get my taxes done. I did not have this problem last year. Now I have to find someone new to do my taxes. Not a happy customer 😒
